Hey Keeshy I worked a div 2 shift a while back at the Epworth and this male div 2 there was doing his div 1 via Open University Australia which seems like it's pretty much an online course. Anyway I don't know much about it and it might be more expensive if they don't have HECS but I just thought I'd mention it because it might be more flexible than the other div 1 conversion courses.

Anyway - I think your plan is good - work for a while as a div 2 and see how things pan out. If you decide to do your div 1 within a few years of starting work it may not be worth doing your med endorsement unless someone else pays for it!

p.s yeah placements are really hard to get - we've been pretty lucky in our course but I know some unis are making students do night shift and weekends to get in their placement hours :-( the system just can't handle so many students.

Yes I have looked into that very briefly. I think its run through UniSA and so you have to do some time over there but not alot. The rest you can do here. But then again it wouldnt bother me going there now and then cos I would consider it a break haha.

It might be something I have to enquire about this year or next cos I am keen to get my hands on as much education as I can. I am fearful of Div 1 though...but I will still be looking into it

Take your time. Don't do anything until you feel ready. It is better, I think, to consolidate your knowledge to your satisfaction. Don't put yourself under too much stress

And ENJOY being an EN. You earnt it. You do virtually the same stuff as an RN. ENs just don't get the same recognition (but hey, maybe I'm biased...)
