Are there any EN's (or PSEN's) out there that get a 'senior's allowance'. We are having some discussions here about introducing it as an option for EN's that are working above what is required of an EN (ie for a portfolio, special project)

I am A Div2 Nurse and I am currently the OH&S rep and have been for the past 18 months, when i reached level 5, I was then able to apply for my seniors allowance due the the extra portpolio I was doing. The seniors allowance is made up of 10% of gross income.

Jen.Division 2 nursing is different grading to Div1 nurses. We have upto level 7 depending on the number of years experience and extra education we do. Eg. Div 2 nurses will commence on level 1 then increase to level 3 with years but will stay at level 3 unless they undertake post grad modules or education upto 100 hours, this will then help them increase they pay point (levels). After level 5 the incremin is again on yearly experience. I hope I have explained this properly.

Hi Sassy girlAlthough the award/EBA states that Div 2's have to be pay point 5 or above to get a seniors allowance, it can also be upto the facility/NUM if there is an experienced div 2 working above her normal role - but within their scope of pracrtice. i have worked with one div 2 with over 20 years experience who would say when asked about her seniors allowance, that she got it for working outside her scope of practice.Tim
