I am currently studying at VU but am far from impressed with the way the course is being delivered. The lectures are all over the place, teachers deliver same content and not sure where we are up to and being told we havent been given the correct content for A and P.
We had 2 weeks off for the school holidays and then they gave us an extra week off because they didnt have our timetable done. They didnt actually send us an email to tell us we had an extra week off either, I had to call and ask where the timetable was and thats when i found out.
Now they tell us we have 1 week of classes and then another week off WTF??????

Is there anyway that I could swap to another tafe next year. I really have no confidence in the delivery of the course and worry I wont have enough knowledge to practice when we finish the course.

This is really getting stressful and not at all what I thought it would be.

meanwhile...back at the ranch...

we still have not found out if we were successful or not LOL

I have started the dual Diploma of Community Development & Diploma of Community Welfare at Kangan Batman Tafe

I had applied as a back up, just in case i did not get in to nursing.

The application process was stress free, even though i had to attend an information session and an interview, had to write 2 essays and answer questions etc..and even though they had heaps of applicants for this course and had to knock some people back...basically same process as the nursing application proces..we found out if we were successful or not pretty much in a week.

Got our letters of offer etc, went and enrolled...and bingo..everything is going smoothly

i am so glad i started you have no idea, the teaching staff are lovely, the course content is fantastic and everything is organised and i am loving it!

Maybe you should apply to Kangan Tafe for next year? i cannot vouch for the nursing department, but honestly... what can be worse than VU???

nothing!

I just hope you can get in to another tafe dear, which i do not see why you possibly could not

xoxo
