Hi, dont know if this will help you - I am in Melbourne, but Div 2 nurses here used to be able to do a post grad course in maternity nursing (dont know if they still can - this is approx. 8 yrs ago), someone I know did one and got work in a private hospital on post natal/gynae word.

hi,

if i was you i would actually contact some hospitals and ask them what kind of qualifications or experience they require to work in post natal, and ask if they can recommend places that offer training. getting it straight from the horses mouth is often the best source of correct info.

maybe call the HR dept of a couple of large hospitals, and then also call a couple of smaller private hospitals (that have maternity wards of course) and ask to speak to the nursing co-ordinator. call at times of the day when they are likely to be able to spend a few minutes talking to you.

just like everything in life- you may get some folks who cant be bothered helping you, but you may also get someone who is happy and willing to offer you a bit of professional advice.

good luck
